THE BRIEF

One place to learn for the modern world.

Technology moves fast, and the people trying to keep up with it are stuck choosing between scattered YouTube videos, outdated courses and forums full of conflicting advice. Olympus Insights saw the gap and partnered with Castle Digital to build OLi, a dedicated learning platform where anyone can build real knowledge in fast moving fields, guided by an AI tutor that adapts to how they learn.

This was not a typical client engagement. Castle Digital joined Olympus Insights as technical co-founders, shaping the business strategy, supporting the capital raise and building the product from first scope through to launch.

Today OLi serves a community of more than 150,000 learners across web, iOS and Android, with a library of hundreds of curated courses and a growing marketplace of third party educators.

THE CHALLENGE

Strategy first. Then design. Then build.

Olympus Insights set out to build a consumer education business in some of the fastest moving fields in technology. That ambition created challenges on four fronts at once.

Content that dates in weeks, not years

Tools change, standards shift and AI capabilities leap forward monthly. A course that was accurate at launch can be misleading a quarter later. The platform had to make creating, updating and publishing content fast enough to keep pace, without an army of developers in the loop.

An audience with wildly different starting points

OLi's learners range from complete beginners meeting a subject for the first time through to working professionals and developers looking for an edge. A one size fits all course structure was never going to hold attention across that spread, and in a category where most online courses are abandoned, engagement was the whole game.

Trust in a space full of noise

Online education in fast moving fields is crowded with hype, conflicting opinions and outright misinformation. For OLi to matter, learners had to be able to rely on it. That standard had to hold not just for in-house content but for a marketplace of third party creators, and for an AI tutor whose answers could not be allowed to drift into guesswork.

A business to build, not just a product

Olympus Insights had the vision, the domain expertise and the audience insight. What they needed was more than a development agency working through a brief. They needed a partner who would think and act like a co-founder: pressure testing the commercial model, helping raise the capital to fund the build, and owning the technical outcomes alongside them.

OUR APPROACH

Co-founders from the business model to the build.

1. Business strategy and capital raising

We joined as co-founders, not contractors. That meant working with Olympus Insights on the commercial fundamentals before a line of code was written: the business model, pricing and packaging, the go-to-market plan and how the platform would defend its position as the category matured. When it came time to fund the build, we supported the capital raise directly, helping shape the investor narrative, the product story and the materials that carried it. Every technical decision from that point on was made the way owners make them, with the economics of the business in view.

2. Product strategy

We scoped and sequenced the platform so launch would not trip over its own ambition. The pre-launch runway focused on the fundamentals learners would touch every day: course delivery, streaming video, assessments, accounts and billing. The custom CMS and creator marketplace were sequenced to compound from there, and a longer roadmap now extends the platform well beyond launch. Every feature had to earn its place by either deepening engagement or opening a revenue line.

3. Design

We designed a learning experience users actually finish. A clean, consistent interface across web, iOS and Android keeps the focus on the content, while progress tracking and interactive assessments give learners a reason to come back. Course structures flex to suit the audience, so a beginner and an experienced professional can both find a path that fits.

4. Engineering

Castle Digital built the full platform: the web application, native iOS and Android apps, high quality streaming video and the custom CMS that lets the Olympus Insights team create, manage and publish rich course content without touching a developer. The same infrastructure powers the creator marketplace, where third party educators promote, sell and manage their own courses and connect directly with OLi's audience.
